Your car must have a removable plastic dummy key.
Sequence to remove:
First place the car's actual key fob outside the vehicle. Then, turn the dummy key in the ignition to the "on" position, which will trigger a "key not found" or "key fault" message. Turn the key back to the "off" position, then turn it on and off again until you hear a click, after which the dummy key can be pulled out.
